Khula Budi, an actor who starred as Trevor in Citizen TV's drama series Maria was reportedly arrested and detained at the Karen Police Station following an altercation with a Nigerian national.
On Thursday, February 16, the thespian claimed that he was held at the police station illegally and denied bail by the officers.
Additionally, he alleged that the foreigner attacked him at his house and assaulted him in front of his family, wife, and daughter.
Furthermore, the Nigerian was accused of paying the officers to keep him at the station despite being the victim.
Budi urged Kenyans to intervene and help him to secure his freedom.
"I am urging everyone to please share this story. And to make as many phone calls to the OCS at Karen Police Station," he shared.
Allegedly, the actor also acquired P3 forms of the assault but accused the police of tampering with the documents, replacing them with blank papers.
"I have been assaulted in my own country by a Nigerian national who came to my house, with no protection from the police or Kenyan government," he lamented while tagging the Independent Policing Oversight Authority (IPOA).
The actor also attached documents from the police station, including the P3 form, and OB number.
According to the P3 form, the actor sustained injuries on his head, neck, abdomen, and lower and upper abdomen.
Furthermore, the form categorised the degree of the injuries as 'harm', meaning any bodily hurt, whether permanent or temporary.
Dated February 11, the form also claimed that the victim was assaulted by a person well known to him, urging the medical officer to ascertain the level or degree of the injuries.
Efforts to reach the OCS at the station proved futile by the time of publishing this article.
