Largely seen as a public identity of a business entity, a logo could be any graphical mark that ranges from emblems to symbols.

However, motor vehicle brands do have logos that are inspired by major significant stories behind the design and aesthetic looks.

The abstract and figurative designs of motor vehicle logos are curatively crafted to leave a permanent mark of a status symbol.

Mercedes-Benz cars are well-known luxury vehicles that come in various models and categories including buses, coaches and lorries.

Simply known as Benz, Mercedes cars are manufactured by a global automobile marque and a division of the German company Daimler AG.

Mercedes-Benz cars are designed by the world's oldest automobile manufacturers, and their logo has evolved for more than 120 years.

However, throughout the evolution, one thing remains, most of the logo's features have well been represented by the current badge — the triangle star.

First introduced in 1909, Mercedes-Benz's logo was designed to illustrate a three-pointed star that symbolizes the company’s “domination of the land, the sea, and the air”.

The logo was slightly modified after the merging of Benz and Daimler in 1926, during which a star of three pikes embosomed with a bordering laureate wreath and the brand name (Mercedes-Benz) embolden on it.

The bordering laurel wreath morphed into an unpretentious circle that is currently displayed on all Mercedes-Benz vehicles.

2. Toyota

The Toyota logo is made up of three ovals that are combined in a horizontally symmetrical configuration.

Among the three ovals, two perpendicular ones intertwine inside the larger oval that represents the heart of the customer and the heart of the company.

The intertwining of the ovals represents a mutually beneficial relationship and trust between Toyota the car manufacturer and the buyer.

"The overlapping of the two perpendicular ovals inside the outer oval symbolize "T" for Toyota, as well as a steering wheel representing the vehicle itself. The outer oval symbolizes the world that embraces Toyota.

"Each oval is contoured with different stroke thicknesses, similar to the brush art in Japanese culture," Car Logo Website explained.

Since its inception in 1917, BMW, has been re-designed five times to attain the current shape, look and feel.

The first BMW cars had blue and white which were previously believed to be spinning propellers, to honor BMW's aircraft-engine beginnings.

The truth, however, is that - the blue and white colors of the BMW logo symbolized the Bavarian flag colors and represented the company’s origin.

BMW's parent company began in the state of Bavaria, and that is why the quarters of the inner circle on the BMW logo display the state colors of the State of Bavaria – white and blue.

The Free State of Bavaria is in the southeast of Germany, and that is where BMW began manufacturing cars in 1917.

"The reason for this inverse order of blue and white in the BMW logo was the local trademark law at the time, which forbade the use of state coats of arms or other symbols of sovereignty on commercial logos," Car Logo Website explained.

Five Japanese companies merged in 1953 to form Fuji Heavy Industries Ltd which manufactured a number of mechanical products including cars.

The firm designed six stars as the logo for one arm of the newly formed companies dedicated to the manufacturing of motor vehicles, the Subaru.

Subaru is the Japanese name for the Pleiades star cluster M45, or "The Seven Sisters," hence only six stars in the Subaru logo.

The word Subaru signifies a Japanese word meaning unite, as well as a term identifying a cluster of six stars, which the Greeks called the Pleiades – part of the Taurus constellation.

Subaru cars are seen as racing cars due to their ability to pick up speed so fast and their larger-than-life engine capacities.

"Subaru claimed the name WRX stands for "World Rally eXperimental". The first road car with the WRX badge arrived in 1992 and was based on the Impreza sedan," Car Logo Website explained.
