"Preliminary investigations indicate that the vehicle rolled after becoming stuck in the mud. We are looking into the unfortunate incident," Onyango stated.

The police spokesperson stated that the other three tourists who were injured in the accident were airlifted to Nairobi for treatment.

Maasai Mara Chief Park Warden Stephen Ole Mining explained that the tourists were attempting to navigate through the Sekenani-Mara Bridge road through the Maasai Mara National park.

The officer added that they had already notified the families of the victims cautioning other tourists to be careful on the park’s roads.

“They were navigating the Sekenani-Mara Bridge road through Maasai Mara National Park when the incident happened.

“We have already informed the family of the deceased persons of their demise,” Stated Mining.

In a separate incident in February 2019, two Americans among five others from Maasai mara died in a light plane crash in Kericho.

Witnesses stated that the plane clipped the tree and the rear wheels came off crashing into another tree in front and onto the ground.

The authorities revealed that the pilot and the other occupants of the light aircraft were Kenyans.
