Mystery has surrounded the disappearance of 27-year-old Erick Macharia, a Kenyan living in Australia, after he went missing on Thursday, March 2, 2023.
According to police reports from New South Wales, Macharia was last seen at home on Fairmount Street, Lakemba, New South Wales.
In addition, concerns were raised after he did not attend work and was not seen at home ever since he was reported missing.
Officers attached to Campsie Police Area Command were notified about 8:00 pm on Wednesday, March 8, and launched a probe into his whereabouts.
The officers noted that Macharia's images were made available on NSW Police Force social media pages.
"Police hold serious concerns for his welfare as this behaviour is considered out of character," read part of the police report.
Erick is described as being of African appearance, about 185 cm tall with a slim build and with dreadlocks.
The authorities urged those with information on his whereabouts to contact police on 1800 333 000 or contact the family members.
Reports indicated that Macharia, originally from Kiambu County, relocated to Lakemba, New South Wales in search of greener pastures.
According to Australian police, the family of a missing kin is advised to file a report as soon as they have concerns for their safety; as the 24-hour waiting period doesn't exist.
"If you are unable to get to a Police station, Police may be able to travel to you. Call your nearest Police station for advice," read part of the police statement on missing persons.
