Accor Hotels, the sixth largest hotel chain in the world has marked its presence in Kenya. It boasts of six luxury hotels in different parts of the country.

Co-founded by Gerard Pelisson and Paul Dubrule in 1967 in Lille, France, as a Novotel, it has grown to 110 countries.

It continues to spread French culture in Kenya through mouthwatering cuisines and language.

Examples of French institutions in Kenya include Alliance Française in Nairobi established in 1949, French School in Nairobi, also known as Lycée Denis Diderot (LDD), established in 1962.

  1. Fairmont Mount Kenya Safari Club

The hotel is owned in partnership with billionaire businessman Humphrey Kariuki. Based in Nanyuki, Laikipia County, it offers spectacular views of Mt. Kenya and the Mt. Kenya forest.

In January 2023, President William Ruto hosted a three-day cabinet retreat at the the facility.

  1. Fairmont Mara Safari Club

It’s located in the Maasai Mara national reserve in Narok County. It is one of the most expensive hotels in Mara and offers luxury tents for guests.

Located along Harry Thuku Road in Nairobi, it is known for its quiet ambiance in the bustling city.

It was built in 1904 by British settlers in Kenya. It is known for hosting the twenty-sixth president of the United States of America, Theodore Roosevelt, in 1909.

Located in Westlands, Nairobi, it is one of the latest Accor Hotels in Nairobi. It is famous for the rotating restaurant on the highest floor of the hotel called The View.
