Jomo Kenyatta is remembered as the father of Kenya's fourth president Uhuru Kenyatta.
Besides his political career, Kenyans know the first president for his convoy of luxury cars and palatial mansions, among other properties.
Some of the luxury cars Uhuru's father cruised around in a while in power were the Lincoln Continental, Mercedes Benz 300SE, and Rolls Royce Phantom V.
It was reported that the car collection was valued at then ($55,000) today's equivalent of Ksh70.8 million, owing to inflation.
Lincoln Continental
Reports indicated that Mzee Jomo Kenyatta got the vehicle as a gift from an American businessman. He was seen driving it during the Madaraka Day and Christmas Day celebrations in 1963.
Some of the white convertible's features included air conditioning and power windows.
In the memoir of Jamaica's Former Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dudely Thompson, the car received honourable mention as the minister recalled being picked up at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) in the sleek vehicle.
The convertible was phased out and placed at the Uhuru Garden Museum for public viewing.
Rolls Royce Phantom V

The car was shipped to Kenya through the port of Mombasa and was driven to Nairobi by Inspector Ndisi.
It was reported that Uhuru drove the car to the State House main gate before switching to his usual convoy for the 2013 Jamhuri Day Celebrations.
Kenyatta used the limo but not as his official vehicle since it was not armoured.
Mercedes Benz 300SE
The Mercedes Benz 300SE was a gift to the first President by the German government. He adopted it as his official ride.
Allegedly, the Mercedes Benz 300SE was a left-hand drive. It carried the late Queen Elizabeth when she arrived in Kenya in 1972.
Kenyatta's driver Martin Munuve Njema in a past interview detailed how he got a chance to chauffer the former Head of State.
