“I was happy to listen to the staff and take note of their needs, which the Government will address. I also got to understand what the Kenya Botswana Diaspora Association is about; doing a wonderful job for its membership,” he stated.

He also encouraged other Kenyans in the Diaspora to adopt practices safeguarding and securing their welfare while away from home.

“I am happy to be with Public Secretary(PS) Njogu in this visit because she has been able to be "on the ground" to listen to the concerns of people who fall under her Diaspora Affairs Department,” he added.

Gachagua also met two Kenyan footballers pursuing their careers in Botswana and had already been signed by Gaborone United, a professional sporting club in Botswana.

“I had the pleasure of meeting two outstanding young footballers who have shattered border limits to venture into professional football, first in Zambia and now in Botswana,  where they have signed for Gaborone United.

“John Mark Makwata and Duncan Otieno, formerly AFC Leopards, have established themselves in Botswana and are happily exploiting their talent,” he added.

He lauded the two for using their talents to inspire others and encouraged other young Kenyans to use determination and pursue their dreams.

“I was fascinated by the journey of the two young men to professional football in African countries.

“Their focus and determination are a  motivation to their peers and younger ones,” he stated.
