Lukresia Robai popularly known as the dancing Kitale Nurse wowed the world with impressive dance moves on Sunday, May 21.
The nurse was presenting for World Health Organisation (WHO) during the 76th session of the World Health Assembly in Geneva, Switzerland.
Robai was among the select individuals representing East Africa in the event's opening ceremony.
The nurse came into fame in November 2022, when she was captured on video dancing for a young patient.
At that time, she was a nursing intern working at Kitale Teaching and Referral Hospital.
In Geneva, she impressed attendants as she produced magical dance moves to a popular Swahili song ‘Nimeuona Mkono wa Bwana.’
The crowd cheered wildly as she danced with abandon.
Robai earned the praise of BBC journalist Mercy Juma who posted, “When the East Africa Church and club banger features at Walk the Talk opening ceremony rest assured, we represented the motherland.”
In 2022, when she went viral, Robai revealed that she was doing rounds in hospital wards when she noticed a sick boy with a fractured leg in low spirits.
She decided to raise the spirit of the boy by breaking into dance moves.
When the video was uploaded to TikTok, it garnered over a million views in just two days.
Amazed by her kind heart, Trans Nzoia County Government offered to clear her school fees and promised her a job upon graduation.
Robai now representing Kenya in Geneva is a testament to how far a good deed can take a person.
The Seventy-sixth World Health Assembly which is being held in Geneva is meant to celebrate the organisation’s 75th anniversary with a theme of; saving lives, and driving health for all.
