President William Ruto's last-born son, George Ruto, delivered Ksh3 million in cash, on behalf of his father, to AIC Fellowship church in Eldoret, Uasin Gishu County.
In a video that surfaced online on Tuesday, June 6, George noted that the contribution would go towards the development of the church.
The president's youngest son delivered a brief speech, passing the President and First Lady's message to the congregation.
"I was sent on behalf of President William Ruto, who could not attend today's (Sunday) service. He, alongside the First Lady, made arrangements to go to Narok," George stated on Sunday, June 4.
"As you know, I'm not a preacher but a pilot, so that's all. President William Ruto has sent Ksh3 million as contributions," he stated amid cheers from the crowd.
The funds were delivered in a shopping bag as the church, led by Reverend Samson Samoei, broke out in jubilation over the announcement.
Ruto's children, save for Charlene Ruto, tend to shy away from the limelight except during specific functions.
George joined Mang'u High School, Kiambu County, in 2013 and later enrolled at Strathmore University. He graduated seven years later, in 2021, with a Degree in Actuarial Science.
Meanwhile, President Ruto attended a Thanksgiving service in Narok West Constituency on Sunday, June 6, in honour of Environment CS Soipan Tuya.
At the service, the president asked MPs to vote for the Finance Bill in an open ballot, to identify those opposed to his development agenda.
"I agree that we should know where each MP voted. I am waiting for the Members of Parliament who will go and vote against the employment of these young people who voted for them," Ruto stated.
“We need to pass this bill so Kenya can develop. There are some suggestions that MPs should disclose how they voted when the bill is tabled in parliament, but personally, I am waiting to see any MP who will shut down that bill,” he added.
