Students who missed university courses of their choice can revise their options after Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) announced the opening of the portal beginning Friday, June 16.

In a statement dated Thursday, June 15, KUCCPS announced that it will reopen its portal for a second revision to students who sat their Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) exam in 2022.

Apart from degree courses, the placement service announced that candidates selecting diploma and certificate courses were also eligible for a second revision.

“The 2022 KCSE candidates who have not secured a course are invited to log in and apply again,” a statement from KUCCPS read in part.

The second revision accords a student a chance to select another course after KUCCPS fails to place them based on their course options made in the first revision with KUCCPS asking students to apply before Tuesday, June 27.

This usually happens when students with low cluster points apply for highly competitive courses.

KUCCPS also gave a chance to students who had qualified for university admission but were yet to apply for undergraduate courses.

“This is also a chance for those who would like to apply for the first time,” the placement added.

Unlike previous years when all KCSE students were allowed to make applications, the government - through the Ministry of Education - announced that only 2022 KCSE students would be eligible to make an application.

Students who scored C+ are eligible to apply for undergraduate degrees, those who scored C- and above are eligible for diploma courses while the rest are eligible for certificate and artisan courses.

KUCCPS on Wednesday, June 7, announced that many students were missing university slots due to the wrong application procedure.

Speaking to Kenyans.co.keKUCCPS' director of Placement Coordination and Career Development John Olouch revealed that students were making selections as required but forgetting to submit, leaving their courses in the selection basket.
