Governor Natembeya Reshuffles Cabinet

Trans Nzoia Governor George Natembeya has reshuffled his County Executive Committee (CEC) and chief officers in a move he said would increase efficiency in the county operations and enhance service delivery.

In a statement dated Wednesday, July 19, the governor explained that the changes were to be effected immediately.

"In accordance with Article 31 (d) of the County Government Act 2012, the mentioned County Executive Members have been reassigned," Natembeya announced.

In the new changes, CEC Samson Otieno Ojwang has been moved from Public Service Management to Education and Technical Training

Meanwhile, Julie Cherobon Kichwen Rutto who served as the Education CEC was moved to the Public Service Management.

Former Public Service Management Chief Officer Kennedy Etyang Seme will take over Trade and Industrialisation department.

Natembeya moved chief officers Philip Kapten from Lands to Public Service Management, and Jane Masika Wachenge from Education and Technical Training to Gender, Youth, Sports Culture, and Tourism.

Patrick Osoro Okong'o from Agriculture, Irrigation, Livestock, Fisheries, and Co-operative Development was taken to Lands as Chief Officer.

Lastly, Isaac Omari Ndiema from Trade and Industrialisation will serve in the Agriculture, Irrigation, Livestock, Fisheries, and Co-operative Development) and Roselyne Nasiebanda in Education from Gender, Youth, Sports, Culture and Tourism.

According to Natembeya, the new changes will help serve the people of Trans Nzoia better.

His reshuffle comes days after his Nairobi counterpart Johnson Sakaja made changes in his cabinet.

CECs head various departments in the counties akin to National government's cabinet.
