The post-mortem results of the late Kilifi Chief County Officer for Fisheries and Blue Economy, Rahab Karisa, have been released, providing more clarity on the cause of her death.

In a heartfelt statement on Friday, July 22nd, 2023, Maxwell Mmera, the widower, bravely shared the autopsy results surrounding the tragic passing of his late wife.

According to the autopsy findings, the cause of death was attributed to either a double stab or a stab combined with a side pull that penetrated the artery and a portion of the lungs.

“I got the post mortem results yesterday, that was unsurvivable done by someone who is a murderer- a 13cm deep inside at your back below the scapula with a v-cut (meaning either double stab, or stab and side pull, as per the pathologist), straight in to the artery and part of lungs,” Mmera posted.

Rahab Karisa, the former Kilifi Chief County Officer was allegedly stabbed to death by her house help on Wednesday, July 2023.

Tragedy struck when the late Karisa returned to her Mnarani home in Kilifi from a work trip to Italy on Wednesday night. It was during this fateful evening that she met her untimely demise.

In the wake of this heart-wrenching event, the widower, Maxwell Mmera, poured out his emotions in a moving tribute.

In his heartfelt tribute, Maxwell revealed that on the night of Wednesday, July 19, Karisa confronted their house help about some household items that had reportedly gone missing while she was away on her duty in Europe.

According to Maxwell's account, the confrontation with their house help over the missing household items took a distressing turn when Karisa allegedly threatened to report the house help to the police regarding the matter.

"My childhood girlfriend, my friend, my wife and the owner of my home. I am going to mourn you properly later, for now, allow me to handle it, as you've always said," the husband mourned.

“You bled out of life on your bed in those ungodly hours, no amount of effort could have saved you babe - you died in sleep but painfully, that was barbaric, you had no chance not to even wake up and fight back, NO. Rest mama REST, just REST my love.”  the husband further mourned.

The distraught widower requested God for guidance during the tough time  noting that the incident had taken a great toll on him and his family.

“I have hurt no one to deserve all the pain to allow this to happen in my life all these years, GOD I am tired and breaking to a point of questioning my faith!!! Why ME, why ALWAYS ME?” the widower cried out.

Kilifi County Commander Fatuma Hadi, on Thursday, July 20, noted that they had launched a manhunt for the house help who was still at large by the time of publishing this piece.
