KUCCPS noted that the extension which was announced on Tuesday, September 12, was granted following requests from KMTC students and stakeholders.

The initial deadline for KMTC placement had been pegged for Sunday, September 10. KUCCPS noted that there were a number of students who had been left out.

The extension is meant to allow KMTC applicants who did not get a chance to at the local medical schools within Kenya Medical Training College to try again.

The extension also gives students more time to make informed decisions about their future studies, by choosing related courses which they would like to pursue.

KMTC is a state corporation under the Ministry of Health entrusted with the role of training the various health disciplines in the health sector, to serve the local, regional and international markets.

It is the largest health training institution in Kenya, with over 40,000 students enrolled in various programs.

KMTC offers a wide range of courses, from certificate to diploma to degree level. The courses offered include Clinical Medicine, Nursing, Environmental Health, Pharmacy, Public Health and Laboratory technology.

Other courses include Medical Engineering, Radiography and Physiotherapy.

KMTC has over 70 campuses located all over the country.

To be eligible for admission to KMTC, applicants must have a minimum of C (plain) in KCSE or its equivalent. The tuition fees for KMTC vary depending on the course and the campus.

The KUCCPS placement process is used to allocate students to universities and colleges in Kenya. The process is based on a student's KCSE grade, their choice of courses, and the availability of spaces in universities and colleges.

Students who are interested in applying for placement to universities and colleges can do so through the KUCCPS website. The website has a step-by-step guide on how to apply for placement.

The KUCCPS placement process is a competitive process. However, all students who meet the minimum requirements are eligible to apply for placement.
