Millicent Omanga Leads Top 10 List of Most Searched Kenyans on Google

Politician Millicent Omanga was the most searched Kenyan on Google in 2023 according to a report released by the search engine giant. 

According to Google, the former nominated senator became a top trend after a video, allegedly featuring the politician was shared online.

The video was later flagged as fake, ostensibly pushed to malign the politician's image. 

Pastor Ezekiel was the second most searched Kenyan due to his association with suspected cult leader Pastor Mackenzie Nthenge.

Musician DJ Fatxo was the third most searched Kenyan following investigations over possible involvement in the death of one of his friends. 

The musician was later acquitted of the charges levelled against him. 

YouTuber Georgina Njenga was the fourth most searched Kenyan following the leaking of her intimate videos.

Mackenzie who stands accused of having forced congregants in his church to fast leading to the death of hundreds, was the fifth most Googled Kenyan.

Athlete Faith Kipyegon who has had a remarkable 2023 was ranked sixth and was the only sportsperson to appear in the list. 

"Kipyegon made the list of the top trending searches by Kenyans at number six after she won the World Athletics Championships 1500m and 5000m titles, completing a remarkable distance double and becoming the first woman ever to complete a 1,500-5,000 meters double at the World Championships," Google stated. 

Former Interior Cabinet Secretary trended seventh after Kenyans searched him following reports that he was going to be arrested by the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI). 

Former Independent Electoral Boundaries Commission (IEBC) Chairman Wafula Chebukati and Supreme Court Chief Justice Martha Koome were ranked eighth and ninth respectively. 

Mathe wa Ngara who was arrested by DCI for allegedly selling bhang was the tenth most searched Kenyan personality in 2023.
