The National Police Service Commission (NPSC) on Tuesday began hunting for buyers interested in acquiring its cars and furniture among other items.
In a notice carried in a local daily, the service listed four categories of goods it classified as obsolete which included two Land Rover cars, Suzuki Vitara and Renault Fluence.
Overall, 100 items are up for sale including furniture, old tyres and ICT equipment.
"The National Police Service Commission (NPSC) is in the process of disposing of unserviceable and obsolete items. In this regard, NPSC invites interested buyers to submit their bids," read the notice in part.
One Land Rover DISC4 with a government number plate is valued at Ksh1.8 million requiring buyers to deposit Ksh180,000 while the other is valued at Ksh1.04 million.
28 pieces of furniture including high-back chairs, water dispensers, floor-standing fans and microwaves were also put up for sale.
Most of the furniture is on sale for between Ksh200 and Ksh4,000.
Old tyres, all of which are valued at Ksh2,000 each, have also been put up for sale as well as ICT equipment including laserjet printers, and Epson projectors among others.
All the goods have been valued at Ksh3.7 million.
How to Purchase
According to NPSC, interested buyers should fill out forms obtained at the headquarters during office hours.
The documents are also available on the National Police Service Commission (NPSC) website or the government's official tender site; tenders.go.ke.
"Tenders may be submitted through postal service, or hand /courier delivery addressed to the NPSC CEO.
The deadline is February 13, 2024, at 10:00am.
