The Kenya Airports Authority (KAA) has announced that payment for various services such as parking in all airports in the country will be cashless following the migration to a digital system.

In a statement dated Monday, February 5, it was noted that Kenyans will now use USSD code *566#  to make payments.

KAA explained that the move was informed by its goal to offer seamless services to Kenyans.

At Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA), the services listed on the digital platform include security passes, film shooting, airport visits, animal holding and miraa fees.

Penalties and fines enforced at the largest airport in the country will also be paid using the USSD.

All that will be required when making the payments is the invoice number set to be provided at the various airports.

"All KAA services have gone cashless! Pay for parking, get your airport passes, and more by simply dialling *566# for swift and secure transactions," read the statement in part.

On the other hand, services which will be made on the USSD at the Wilson Airport include security passes, film shooting, airport visits, penalties and fines

At the Kisumu, Eldoret and Moi International Airports, KAA onboarded Airport car parking, security passes, film, airport visits, penalty and fines and cargo fees services on the new platform.

Additionally, KAA noted that the platform will also apply in airstrips including Malindi, Lokichogio, Wajir, Manda, Kitale, Kakamega, Lodwar, Garissa, Isiolo and Kabunde.

KAA is the body mandated to manage airports and airstrips in the country.

The recent move also aligns with President William Ruto's directive on the digitisation of services to boost revenue collection and enhance efficiency in the delivery of government services.
