In a notice published in the local dailies, the affected roads include Southern Bypass, Lang'ata Road, Aerodrome Road, Bunyala Road and Lower Hill Road.

Drivers using Elgon Road, Hospital Road, Upper Hill Links Road and Mbagathi Way are also set to experience disruption of the normal traffic flow.

Meanwhile, motorists are advised to use alternative routes to avoid inconveniences caused by the event.

Additionally, the traffic police will be on-site to maintain law and order along the roads.

The Family Cancer Walk is part of a charity programme aimed at reducing the number of deaths linked to children with cancer.

The funds raised from the walk are contributed towards cancer treatment for children.

Besides the walk, Nairobi motorists will also be affected by a routine maintenance exercise along James Gichuru Road this weekend.

The exercise, which began on Thursday, March 14, will culminate on Sunday, March 17.

Road users were advised by the Kenya Urban Roads Authority (KURA) to anticipate heavy traffic along the road and use alternative routes for convenience purposes.

"We wish to notify the general public that there will be traffic disruption along James Gichuru Road from March 14, 2024, to March 17, 2024, during night hours," KURA stated.
