Agony As 3 Die in House Fire

Family and friends are yet to come to terms with the incident which saw three members of one family die in a house fire.

The house in Wathorego, Kisumu East caught fire at around 11pm Sunday night.

It is said to have started in the sitting room and spread throughout the house, trapping a man, Paul Ong'ala and his five children, who were all asleep.

The eldest child however managed to rescue his two brothers before the fire became too intense.

Neighbors tried to help with putting out the fire but to no avail.

The children's father and two children however died in the fire.

The Star reports that the mother to the children had gone to a neighbors house for fellowship.

She came back to find her husband, two children and property gone.

Preliminary investigations suggest that a kerosene lamp knocked over might have been the cause of the fire but a conclusive report is yet to be reached.

Investigations into the matter continue.
