The Kenya Urban Roads Authority (KURA) has cautioned motorists of traffic disruption affecting three roads along the Valley Road section.

In a notice dated Saturday, May 18, the authority highlighted that the three roads would be closed in phases beginning with the road from the Integrity Centre (EACC headquarters) to the Ralph Bunche road section on Saturday at 6 am.

The Ralph Bunche Road leading to the Argwings Kodhek Roundabout section will be closed on Sunday, May 19.

On the other hand, the road from the Argwings Kodhek Roundabout to the Ngong Road Roundabout section will be closed on Monday, May 20.

KURA explained that the closure of the roads was necessitated by the scheduled maintenance work.

"We wish to notify the general public that there will be traffic disruption along Valley Road, Nairobi as from 6 am on Saturday, May 18, till Monday, May 20 at 6 pm.

"This is to allow the contractor on site to improve sections of the road," read the notice in part.

Therefore, motorists who plan to use the routes were advised to seek alternative routes for the three days.

Further, the Authority expressed that the contractor would work within the specific timelines to ensure that the roads are reopened for normal traffic flow.

"The contractor has scheduled to work day and night to minimize the work period and ensure minimal disruptions," read the notice in part.

Those set to be affected by the closure are motorists heading to various institutions and officers located in Hurlingham and the Ministry of Defence offices.

Consequently, motorists can opt to use the route along Community and the Milimani Law courts before proceeding to Ngong Road.
