Deputy President William Ruto Meets With Luhya and Kamba Leaders

Deputy President William Ruto yesterday held closed-door meeting with a section of Kamba and Luhya leaders to discuss the new strategy for acquiring major support from their home turfs.

The DP asked the leaders to play a leading role in marketing the Jubilee Party manifesto to voters in their respective areas ahead of the August General Election.

Mr Ruto said it was the responsibility of leaders to sell the party’s manifesto to Kenyans at the grassroots level because they were well placed to do so.

He emphasized that the Government has implemented most of its development agenda across the country.

"We are proud of our scorecard and that is why we want to challenge our friends in the Opposition to tell us what they did for Kenyans when they served for years in Government instead of the rhetoric we are used to," the DP urged.

The delegation of leaders from Ukambani and Western Kenya had separately met the DP at his Karen office in Nairobi.

Led by Bungoma Governor Ken Lusaka, the Luhya leaders included Members of Parliament Boniface Otsiula (Bumula), John Waluke (Sirisia), Bernard Shinali (Ikolomani), Benjamin Washiali (Mumias East), Reginalda Wanyonyi (Bungoma), Mary Emase (Teso South), Arthur Odera (Teso North), Malulu Injendi (Malava) and Emmanuel Wangwe (Navakholo)
