Duale Dismisses Audio Clip Inciting Eviction of Kambas from Garissa

National Assembly Majority Leader Aden Duale has finally spoken on an audio clip in which a voice believed to be his is heard calling for eviction of members of the Kamba community from Garissa Township which he represents.

In response to the recording that has angered many, Mr Duale rubbished it stating that it was mere propaganda by his political rivals

"An audio clip in circulation online is fake & crude propaganda. It's the work of a bygone era politician attempting to cook fake news," Duale said.

The legislator added that: "I have never called for violence against anyone but instead in all my gatherings I have been calling for peaceful coexistence among residents. The clip is just but a propaganda to taint my image."

In the recording, a speaker believed to be Duale is heard urging for certain people not to be allowed into Garissa as the General Election approaches.

The speaker vows not to permit outsiders to interfere with the politics of the region amid cheers and claps from the audience.

The clip was widely shared online, with a hashtag - #ArrestDuale - being created to demand action against the Majority Leader for the supposed utterances.
