I Will Back Sonko if He wins the Jubilee Nominations - Kenneth Says After Dagoretti Chaos

Former Gatanga MP Peter Kenneth has said he will back Senator Mike Sonko for Nairobi Gubernatorial seat if the latter wins the Jubilee nominations slated for April.

Speaking after the Senator disrupted his meeting in Dagoreti on Sunday, Kenneth stated that despite the rivalry, all Jubilee aspirants should be focussed on how to beat incumbent Evans Kidero and not fighting among themselves.

“Jubilee aims to bring about change in the capital which is rotting under the leadership of the Governor Evans Kidero. Nairobi is choking with garbage. There is a lot of garbage and congestion in town,” Kenneth was quoted.

The Nairobi Gubernatorial aspirant also made it clear that he had not been endorsed by top party officials, stating that he was ready for Jubilee nominations anytime.

Kenneth’s sentiments come after the senator accompanied by his supporters, stormed a football event in Dagoretti North where the former presidential aspirant was the main guest and caused chaos.

Supporters of Sonko and Kenneth descended on each other the senator's bodyguards pulled out their guns and shot in the air to try and calm angry youth.

After the fracas, Kenneth lashed out at Sonko stating that it was unfair to bring theatrics into a football match.
