Isaac Ruto Launches Mass Member Recruitment for His Chama Cha Mashinani Party

Bomet Governor Isaac Ruto has launched a mass member recruitment exercise for his Chama Cha Mashinani (CCM) Party in the Rift Valley.

Ruto, who announced that he had started the exercise a month ahead of the Jubilee party, added that he had put in place measures to ensure the ruling coalition would not have a chance in the August 8 General Election.

He added that in Bomet alone, CCM had managed to register 100,000 members over the past four weeks.

"CCM has already registered 100,000 members over the last one month and we will ensure that our party is the dominant one here," the Governor stated.

Jubilee, through party leader, President Uhuru Kenyatta, had already suspended its voter recruitment, instead directing their efforts in the mass voter registration exercise that ended on February 19th.

Ruto is one of the Rift Valley politicians who is plotting to deny the Jubilee party local seats in the 2017 General Election.

The Bomet Governor recently held meetings with KANU chairman Gideon Moi, where they are reported to have come up with a strategy that will give their parties dominance over Jubilee, particularly in the Rift Valley.
