Kidero Demands Nkaissery to Arrest Mike Sonko and Peter Kenneth After Gun Drama

Nairobi Governor Evans Kidero on Thursday demanded the arrest of Senator Mike Sonko and Gubernatorial aspirant Peter Kenneth following a gun drama in Dagoretti.

Speaking in the same area, where he had gone to inspect road projects, the City boss criticised Interior and Coordination Cabinet Secretary Joseph Nkaissery for remaining silent over the matter.

"Nkaissery has been the loudest CS but he has been quiet on the Sunday events. He must take action. We cannot allow such stupid acts in Nairobi," Kidero said.

On Sunday, Sonko unceremoniously stormed a football match graced by Kenneth while accompanied by his supporters.

The Senator's action caused an uproar at the event with his supporters and those of Kenneth descending on each other.

The bodyguards of the two pulled out their guns and shot in the air to try and calm the situation.

After the fracas, Kenneth lashed out at Sonko stating that it was unfair to bring theatrics into a football match.

"I hope desperation will stop being the order of the day... It is unfair to have gun shots fired in a football match, very unfair,'' the former Gatanga MP stated.

On his part, the Nairobi Senator denied inciting the residents stating, "I was here as the County Senator, Dennis Waweru was here as the MP for this area, We have not incited anyone, in fact, it is them who incited their boys to pelt us with stones."
