ODM leader Raila Odinga's younger sister, Ruth Odinga has demanded for extra VIP security ahead of the 2017 elections.
Ruth, who is also the Kisumu Deputy Governor, stated that her life and property are threatened by the heated temperatures that have characterised the run-up to the General Election.
Ruth threatened that if the Inspector General of Police Joseph Boinett fails to honour her request, she will be forced to mobilise massive protests.
"We want the police to beef up our security detail. I won't sit back and suffer in silence. I will protest until my security is beefed up," Ms Odinga declared.
The Deputy Governor complained that she had been forced to use county Askari's as her bodyguards despite the fact that they are not well trained on VIP protection.
