Larry Madowo Attacks Willy Mutunga for Condemning the Media

NTV news anchor Larry Madowo was on Thursday seemingly displeased with former Chief Justice Willy Mutunga for attacking the media fraternity in one of his tweets.

Mutunga, who was responding to an exclusive story aired on Citizen TV highlighting that he was joining politics, dismissed the reports in a tweet alluding that the Kenyan media was a bunch of liars.

"Don't believe media LIES and propaganda that I am running for political office. They tell the truth by accident!" Mutunga stated.

His remarks were not taken kindly by Madowo who questioned the former CJ for labelling the media as liars over a mistake made by one outlet

"One outlet fakes a story about you and now it's the media's collective fault?" Madowo posed.

On Wednesday night, Citizen TV alleged that sources had disclosed that Dr Mutunga was being fronted to lead the Ukweli Party of Activist Boniface Mwangi which was registered three weeks ago.

The report claimed that Mutunga's name had been forwarded to the registrar of political parties to replace that of Mwangi as Chairman of the party.

The registrar is however said to have declined to effect the change due to "signature hitches".
