Journalist Larry Madowo is set for a court battle after controversial blogger Cyprian Nyakundi, vowed to sue him for alleged defamation against him.
Nyakundi told Kenyans.co.ke that he was suing Madowo over an article he published on his website, (larrymadowo.co.ke), that incriminated him by insinuating that he (Nyakundi) was being bribed by companies to tarnish competitors' names.
In Madowo's article titled: OF BROKE ‘BIGWIGS,’ SOCIAL MEDIA ‘INFLUENCERS’ AND SH50M TWEETS, the NTV news anchor criticized the blogger over a phone call, bearing a voice believed to be his (Nyakundi), in which he was soliciting funds from Bidco, failure to which he would ruin their reputation through social media.
In a tweet, Nyakundi said that he would move to court on Wednesday 9th December, to file his application after Madowo refused to make an apology for the words he wrote.
“Gave Larry Madowo 7 days to apologize but he has refused. On Wednesday my Lawyer proceeds to File Case. Time to prove what he said in court.” Nyakundi stated.
Madowo, however, seemed unmoved by the blogger's threats and told him to move ahead with his mission, further advising him to take a loan for it.
Bring it on @C_NyaKundiH. This should be fun. Take a loan, you'll need it
