Missing Kabete Parliamentary aspirant Charles Chege Gitau “Fresh” has been found alive in Narok.
According to area police boss Philip Kipkirui, Chege was found drowsy on the roadside by pedestrians and rushed to hospital.
Kipkirui stated that Chege told the first responders that he remembered being pulled out of his car but from then he could not recall further details.
He added that investigations into the incident had been launched.
Kabete residents engaged police in running battles after news of his kidnap broke out on Saturday over fears of foul play.
Chege’s car was found riddled with bullets on the back door and rear windscreen abandoned vehicle near Gitaru dam.
According to area police officers, Chege might have gone missing at around midnight after dropping off his driver.
The officers confirmed that all his personal belongings including his mobile phone were found intact in the Toyota Prado.
Kabete OCPD Joseph Ongaya divulged that one area resident reported sounds of gunshots and on responding, the officers found the abandoned vehicle near Gitaru dam.
“When our officers arrived, they told us it was Chege’s vehicle and that no one was around. They said there were no blood stains," he stated.
He affirmed that investigations had been launched adding that the aspirant's driver was helping in the probe as the Prado was towed to King'eero Police Station.
Chege was expected to launch his manifesto on Saturday at Kanjeru Stadium.
