Mohamed Ali Responds To Claims He is Running for MP

Investigative journalist Mohamed Ali on Thursday responded to claims that he is set to join politics in the near future. The journalist spoke after reports emerged that he would be vying for the Nyali Parliamentary seat in 2017.

Mr Ali neither confirmed nor denied the claims stating he was currently a journalist and would only give information on the matter “when the right time comes.”

“I am currently a journalist, but if the right time comes to join politics, why not,” Ali told Kenyans.co.ke on phone.

Ali further stated that he could run for office only if the people of Nyali wanted him to do so.

“Time will tell...If the people of Nyali want me to run, we will see,” he said.

The Jicho Pevu reporter further shunned bloggers and persons propagating the information, saying he was the only person who could give such details and not any other.

“I have a facebook page and a twitter page, if I wanted to announce that I am running for a seat, I would come out strongly and say it,” stated Ali.
