Nairobi ODM Official Shot Dead

A Nairobi Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) youth leader has been shot dead in Ruai estate.

Stephen Mukabana was shot on Tuesday night a few metres from his house during a robbery incident in Mihang'o area.

According to the police, Mukabana met his death while he attempted to assist a man who was being robbed by unknown assailants.

The official is said to have been driving into his home when he heard screams from an alley then tried to accost the gangsters, who shot him in the chest and head killing him instantly.

Police stated that the gang, which took away his phone and wallet containing unconfirmed amount of money, left after shooting and wounding the man who was being robbed.

However, the police indicated that they were yet to make arrests but were pursuing the attackers.

ODM Communications Director Philip Etale confirmed the incident saying: “Waking up to very disturbing news of the demise of my friend and fellow ODM diehard Mukabana Stephen following an attack by thugs outside his gate. This is very devastating and saddening. A young and vibrant youthful leader in Nairobi”.

Mukabana had previously contested for Nairobi Chairmanship and was set to vie for the Embakasi East parliamentary seat in the 2017 election.
