National Identity Card Applicants To Wait Longer As Registry Face Crisis

The production of national identity cards countrywide is in a resource crisis, causing applicants to wait for long.

According to the Principal registration officer Leonard Nyang’ole the directorate of registration has ran out of materials used to make IDs.

Nang’ole however says that the directorate has not entirely closed the exercise but has scaled down the operation.

In a report on the Star applicants in some stations have been waiting for as long as six months a process that should take approximately three weeks.
