ODM Supporters Protest Against Uhuru in Kisii

Violent protests erupted on Wednesday evening after President Uhuru Kenyatta's visit of Kisii County.

Irate youth are said to have protested on the streets against Kenyatta's visit declaring that the region was an Opposition zone.

Carrying placards and oranges which is a symbol of the Orange party, the group danced on the streets while dancing on the streets as they reportedly heaped praise on ODM leader Raila Odinga.

They waved away leaders who had attended Kenyatta's event while chanting pro-NASA and ODM slogans.

"ODM! NASA! ODM! NASA!...Uhuru must go!" they chanted.

However, one of the protesters claimed that they had been paid to stage the demonstrations by some of the area ODM leaders.

I am here not because I hate Jubilee but because I want to get the cash we were promised by organisers who wanted to create the impression that ODM is popular in the region. I don't think that is true," he was quoted by the Star.

The President, accompanied by his Deputy William Ruto, started his two-day tour of Kisii and Nyamira counties on Tuesday and have been launching projects as they woo residents to Jubilee.
