Coalition for Reforms and Democracy (CORD) leaders on Wednesday organised a rally at Uhuru Park to demonstrate their solidarity with the striking teachers.
The leaders led by Opposition Principals Raila Odinga and Kalonzo Musyoka led their followers in demanding that the Government pays teachers the 50-60 per cent salary increase awarded to them by the court.
In a sarcastic twist, Kiminini MP Chris Wamalwa , Homabay Women Representative Gladys Wanga and Embakasi South MP Irsha Sumra among others dressed in school uniforms as a symbol of their union with the tutors who are now on an industrial action that has lasted four weeks over the pay dispute.

The Opposition has been mounting pressure on the government over the same matter and has even launched a bid to remove President Uhuru Kenyatta from office.
However other political leaders have faulted CORD for criticizing the government at political rallies, urging them to offer 'tangible' solutions to the ongoing education crisis.
