Police Detain Two Guards over Journalist's Death

Police in Eldoret are holding in custody two guards in connection to the death of journalist John Kituyi.

The two worked near the place where Kituyo was murdered.

The 63 year old journalist and proprietor of The Mirror Weekly newspaper was murdered Thursday last week as he walked home from a country club in the region.

The attackers took his phone but Kituyi's money and watch were left intact in the 8PM incident.

A postmortem report has revealed that Kituyi died from excessive bleeding after being hit with a blunt object on the head.

Media Council of Kenya boss Harun Mwangi visited the family of the deceased in the company of other journalists and promised that the council; would do all its best to ensure the culprits are brought to book.

Investigations into the incident continue.
