President Uhuru Kenyatta in Bitter Exchange of Words with Turkana Governor Josphat Nanok

President Uhuru Kenyatta has utterly shocked Kenyans after engaging in a fierce exchange of words with Turkana Governor Josphat Nanok.

Kenyatta who was on a tour of the County accompanied by his deputy William Ruto on Wednesday went on a rant hurling abusive words in public to the ODM Governor.

Trouble started after Nanok lamented over the share of the money the county is supposed to receive from the Tulow oil project as compared to what should be remitted to the National Government.

Nanok urged the President to ensure that enough money is retained by the county government so that it can be used for development projects.

“Mr President, if you can do this one thing for the people and get us this money, then you will be heard here even more,” Nanok stated.

However, an angry Kenyatta in a rejoinder spewed venom accusing the governor of trying to blackmail his government with threats.

Mtu akisimama hapa aseme ati Uhuru ako na haja na mafuta ya wengine. Ashindwe shetani mshenzi...si mimi napitisha sheria. Kazi yangu ni kupitisha kidole halafu mjinga anakuja hapa kusema... Wa kufikiria mimi ni mtu wa kutishwa watafute mwingine (a stupid person should not come here saying that Uhuru is interested in their oil. My work is not to pass laws but to only append my signature. They should not think that I am afraid of them),” he vented.

Uhuru went on to state: “Mimi shida yangu sio uongozi. Mi shida yangu ni kufanya kazi ambayo itabadilisha maisha ya wananchi .. kwa hivyo wakufikiria mi ni mtu ya kutishishwa watafute mwengine. Kura ni kura na tutakuja kuomba kama wengine... mtupatie mkose kututupatia kwani mnafikiri dunia itaisha."

Loosely translated: "My concern is not leadership... My concern is to initiate projects that will change the lives of Kenyans... If you think you can threaten me, look for someone else. I will seek votes from you like any other person... whether you vote for us or not. it will not be the end of the world."
