Raila Odinga Flies to Israel for International Conference After Strategists Fail to Present Detailed Plan

Details have emerged on what Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party leader Raila Odinga instructed his campaign lieutenants before flying to Israel on Friday.

According to sources, the National Super Alliance (NASA) presidential candidate flew out of the country for an international conference and was expected to be out of the country for one week.

“He is attending a conference and will be back after one week to officially launch the NASA presidential campaign,” said ODM director of elections and Suna East MP, Junet Mohammed .

It has however emerged that Odinga before he flew out on Friday had been expected to meet together with other NASA co-principals with the oppositions campaign team.

The campaign team reportedly composed of top lawyers, economists and professors had been tasked with the duty of developing NASA’s campaign strategy and structure.

When the team led by lawyer Dan Ameyo, economist David Ndii and University lecturer Adams Oloo failed to present the detailed strategy on Thursday, the principals called off the meeting.

“They had been given up to Thursday to prepare a detailed campaign strategy and structure but could not beat the deadline so the principals were forced to call off the meeting,” the source revealed to the Nation.

The team that had been retained after helping craft the opposition alliance’s power-sharing formula was asked to complete the strategy before Odinga jets back to officially launch the NASA campaign, nationwide.

Raila Odinga had in March last year flown out to Jerusalem to attend the first-ever Africa-Israel Policy and Leadership conference organised by The Harry S. Truman Research Institute of Advancement of Peace.
