REVEALED: Fate of Jubilee Leaders After Parties Merge

Nominated Member of Parliament (MP) and TNA Chairman Johnson Sakaja has revealed what will happen to officials of parties merging to form the Jubilee Party (JP).

Speaking to Kenyans.co.ke, Sakaja stated that all executives of constituent parties in the Jubilee coalition would have to be dissolved in order to agree on the best way of appointing an interim office awaiting official elections of the bigger Jubilee Party.

The TNA Chairman that they were going round all counties talking to party officials before coming up with one method of choosing leaders of the new party which is expected to be launched in March.

“We will agree among all parties on the best way to have the new interim officials of the party before we are able to hold our elections as Jubilee,” he explained.

Mr Sakaja further reassured that the process of merging the jubilee affiliate parties was in progress, adding that they were in deep consultions to protect the merger from falling apart along the way.

According to Sakaja, the coalition had already tabled ammendments of laws in Parliament that would facilitate the smooth process of ensuring success of the merger.

He further told Kenyans.co.ke that they had already formed the new party's resolution, assuring their supporters that the 2017 political outfit would be ready for launching by end of March as earlier promised.

"There are some ammendments that we are pushing and the merger bill is already in parliament. Our officials have done the resolutions and hopefully by end of march we shall be through with the process," he declared.

The Jubilee Party has been facing rebellion from a section of leaders contesting the idea of dissolving individual parties to form one political vehicle for 2017 elections.
