Speaking during an interview on Citizen TV, Ruto announced that he would travel upcountry to spend the festive season with his family and villagers.
The Deputy President said that during this years's festive season, he intends to spend much of the time fulfilling his fatherly duties terming it as a 'family time'.
Ruto, who was talking to journalist Hussein Mohamed, revealed that he was eager to join his constituents and participate in ceremonies carried out in the villages during Christmas.
"Christmas is family time my friend and I will be going to the village; do those things that fathers and the other things that villagers do," he said
Meanwhile, the DP cleared the air over numerous allegations linking him to graft and land grabbing. He cleared himself from the controversial Weston Hotel, participating in numerous Harambee functions and a Sh1.2 Billion house linked to him by a local media house.
“Because of my background, they (the opposition leaders) didn’t want to believe that I could get anywhere but I’m telling them that you don’t have to have tall parents to get to places. I can prove to the latter, every property that I own and every asset that I have," Ruto said.
He clearly outlined how he built the Hotel in collaboration with other partners and also constructed his homes in Eldoret and Karen using legally acquired loans from local banks.
