School Girl Linked to Dangerous Watalia Gang Arrested In Likoni

A girl suspected to be part of the dangerous Watalia criminal gang was arrested on Monday in the Vyemani neighbourhood of Likoni.

The girl, whose identity has been withheld, was apprehended by a special team of police officers formed to track down criminal gangs in Mombasa.

Likoni police boss Willy Simba revealed that the girl was part of the dreaded gang that had been terrorising residents of Likoni and its surrounding areas.

She also had some marks on her body that pledged allegiance to the Watalia gang.

“We are holding the suspect, but it is shocking to find a school girl who has been recruited to join the gang, she had drawings in her hands pledging allegiance to the outlawed gang, the police boss narrated.

On Saturday, police acting on a tip-off by suspects who were in custody already, arrested the suspected leader of the deadly criminal group around the same area.

17-year old Nicholas Sabato Wandera alias 'soldier', was arrested in what was termed as the “conclusion” of coordinated manhunt of other members of the same gang in the sub-county.
