Two Police Officers Admitted in Hospital After Engaging in Fight at Bar in Karen

Patrons at a bar in Karen were on Saturday forced to scamper for safety after two police officers drew their guns and started shooting at each other.

According to reports, the two officers based at Hardy Police Station, Karen, were drinking at the bar before an argument ensued.

The officers, one in the rank of a Sergeant and his junior, shot at each other after the argument escalated.

The Sergeant was shot and injured in the arm while his junior sustained a bullet injury on his back.

They were both rushed to the hospital where they are currently admitted.

Efforts by Kenyans.co.ke to reach Hardy Police boss for comment on the matter were futile as calls to the OCPD went unanswered.

The incident came days after a Department of Criminal Investigations (DCI) officer was on Friday morning slashed to death after being attacked by a gang at around 4 am in Kiambu.

According to Head of Special Crimes Noah Katumo, the detective attached to the Special Crime Prevention Unit was killed by panga-wielding criminals.

Katumo revealed that the officer was killed outside Tharaini bar where he was reportedly chewing miraa inside his car.

He was then strangled and slashed to death by the gang while a watchman at the bar and another man sustained deep panga cuts.
