Uhuru Dares Jubilee Rebels

President Uhuru Kenyatta has strongly told off Jubilee leaders pressuring him to sack or reinstate members of his Cabinet linked to corruption, saying they should stop interfering with his administration and instead wait for their time to lead.

Mr Kenyatta reportedly told those creating unnecessary disturbance in his government to keep off, since they were not consulted during its formation. He dared those uncomfortable with his administration to either give him space or walk out of the coalition.

In a meeting attended by Jubilee leaders from North Rift region, the President's words were seen as directed to Nandi Hills MP, Alfred Keter, who has been determined to impeach Devolution Cabinet Secretary, Anne Waiguru following graft cases discovered in her ministry.

“Tell him to use the Constituency Development Fund (CDF) to develop his constituency and stop meddling in government affairs, because no one has consulted him on the issue,” he said as reported by the Nation.

He further added that he would not tolerate Opposition from people who did not have political experience, saying that they were not in a position to dictate whoever he was to fire or not.

President Kenyatta has been criticized for his silence on the unending corruption scandals being unearthed in different quarters especially within the Devolution Ministry.

However, the Star reports that while addressing a crowd at a stop over in Eldoret, Kenyatta said that whoever had evidence implicating Waiguru or any other Cabinet Secretary of involvement in corruption, should present it and action would be taken with no prejudice.

On Monday evening, Director of Public Prosecutions ordered for immediate prosecution of officials linked to the Sh791 Million loss at National Youth Service, among them Director, Nelson Githinji and Planning Principal Secretary, Peter Mangiti.
