Uhuru's 'Friend' Explains Why He Slept Outside State House

A man arrested by General Service Unit (GSU) officers, for trespassing State house on October 27 left the court in utter amusement after he disclosed reasons behind his actions.

Kadhik Juma Walter told the Court that President Uhuru Kenyatta was his close friend, and that it was not the first time he visited Kenyatta as he had been doing different jobs at State house.

"Your honour I have been doing various odd jobs there like pitching tents. I do not know why I was arrested and am above the law since the President knows me," the Standard quoted Walter.

Walter further revealed to the court that he had been sleeping at the football pitch for quite some time and did not understand why the police apprehended him.

He explained that he slept outside State house because he did not have fare to go back to Western.

The accused who pleaded guilty to the charges, said that he met President Kenyatta in Western during his campaigns where he shook his hand and they became friends.

Presiding Magistrate, Daniel Ogembo, ordered for a mental check up on the accused and results presented to the court on November 4th before a ruling was made.
