Nyali Member of Parliament Hezron Awiti became a laughing stock on social media, after a video of him delivering a speech before President Uhuru Kenyatta during the opening of English Point Marina emerged.
In the six minute clip, the legislator is heard making serious grammatical mistakes leading to many making fun of him and questioning his education level.
Awiti who seemed confident in his delivery started by saying, “Thank you the Governor of Mombasa for give me chance atleast to welcome the president of the Republic of Kenya his excellency Uhuru Kenyatta, the chief of staff, his Excellency, the ladies, the cabinets Najib Balala and all cabinets, my collegues, member of parliaments your welcome to Nyali Constituency".
Awiti was however, hailed by others who commended his great work in his constituency.
In his speech, he made important points including; encouraging a secure tourism environment in the coast for economic development and cohesion among leaders.
The lawmaker left those at the launch in stitches, as he confidently made the grammatical errors but at the same time made his point before the President.
