VIDEO: Museveni Tells Off Raila Over Sugar Deal

Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni has hit out at CORD leader Raila Odinga, for his opposition of the alleged sugar deal between Kenya and Uganda.

Speaking at the Ugandan parliament, Museveni faulted Odinga for his sentiments on the deal, saying the deal would be beneficial to both countries.

Museveni who has in the past made headlines for his controversial statements on some issues, did not take too kindly to Odinga's stance on the deal.

The Ugandan president said that the deal was not about the two countries but rather, a step in ensuring cross border trade between East African states.

Museveni had the room in laughter when he called the entire situation 'a waste of time'.

Regional leaders backed the deal between Kenya and Uganda insisting that people should not have the misguided notion that it was a personal deal between the two presidents.

Instead, the leaders said the deal should be seen as a deal between two countries, trying to foster trade.

This comes even as CORD leaders continue their criticism of the deal, which they claim did not add up.

Recently, the leaders told Kenyans to forgo Brookside milk, in protest of the deal; a shot taken against President Uhuru, as he is alleged to own the Brookside milk company.
