VIDEO: ODM MP's House Burnt in Mysterious Fire

Mbalambala Member of Parliament Abdikadir Aden is counting losses after his Kilimani apartment in Nairobi was on Monday night consumed in mysterious fire.

Speaking to Kenyans.co.ke, Mr Aden said that the inferno broke out in his neighbour's house on the fourth floor of  Kirichwa Heights Apartment.

The ODM legislator divulged that his wife and children were in the house when the fire broke out at around 8pm.

"It actually came from a neighbour's house. I had gone for my regular exercise before the incident happened. Luckily my wife was able to get the kids out," Aden said.

The lawmaker drew suspicion from the manner in which his Chinese neighbours behaved stating that: "These Chinese fellows would come and live many of them in one house and you do not know what activities they are carrying out".

"When the fire started in their house the neighbours actually went to help them. The fire was just in one bedroom but they came out, locked the door and disappeared. We had to break down the door to give access to the firefighters," Aden noted.

He added that he had reported the same to the police and they were on the hunt.

Nairobi police boss Japheth Koome confirmed the incident stating, "We don’t know what caused the fire on the apartment burning property but we are investigating”.

No injury was reported but property worth millions of shillings was destroyed during the fire.
