VIDEO: Waiguru Admits Consulting Uhuru Over 2017 Elections

Former Devolution Cabinet Secretary Anne Waiguru has admitted to consulting President Uhuru Kenyatta in her bid to seek an elective position in the 2017 General Election.

Addressing journalists after meeting various leaders across Nairobi County, Waiguru firmly confirmed that she had been talking to the Head of State as she continued to receive more support into contesting for the County's gubernatorial seat.

“We are continuing to talk to my fellow leaders. We are consulting with the Head of State. We are talking to everyone so that we can decide on the way forward,” said Waiguru.

The former Minister who has received the backing of women groups and other leaders to vie for the seat, reiterated her stand that she was still praying before making her final decision regarding the matter.

If Waiguru runs to unseat Governor Evans Kidero, then she would be joining a crowded race with players including; nominated Member of Parliament Johnson Sakaja, the County's Senator Mike Sonko, Dagoretti South legislator Dennis Waweru and Bishop Margaret Wanjiru.
