Bishop Margaret Wanjiru's Case Temporarily Suspended

Chief Magistrate Francis Andayi on Tuesday ruled that Nairobi Gubernatorial Aspirant Bishop Margaret Wanjiru case was temporarily suspended.

Mr Andayi halted the case against Wanjiru following her pending appeal at the High Court.

Last week on Wednesday, Wanjiru was apprehended for storming City Park polling centre together with her supporters and destroying voting materials worth Sh30,000, claiming that there was a mix up in the ballot papers

She was taken to Parklands Police Station and on Thursday charged with malicious damage to property and creating disturbance. The Magistrate ordered she remains in police custody until May 2nd.

Bishop Wanjiru then moved to the High Court on Friday to challenge the decision made by Magistrate Andayi and was freed on a cash bail of Sh100,000.
