Central Organization of Trade Unions (COTU) Secretary-General Francis Atwoli has hit out at NASA presidential candidate Raila Odinga saying that the Opposition is living in denial over election matters.
Speaking on Sunday in Khwisero, Kakamega County, Atwoli asserted that Odinga needs to stop claiming that he was not consulted on the repeat election date and instead focus on his presidential campaigns.
"Raila should be ready for the elections any day, he should stop living in denial that he was not consulted on the date for the repeat election.
"He should equip himself by campaigning across the country," Atwoli advised.
The COTU boss added that the Opposition leader should quit giving conditions to the IEBC concerning the conduct of the repeat presidential poll.
"I appeal to my brother Raila Odinga to stop setting so many conditions for the election.
"Let him send his people around the country to campaign, Musalia Mudavadi here in Western, Ali Hassan Joho to the Coast, Kalonzo Musyoka to Ukambani, let him set a few conditions if he is ready for the election," Atwoli urged.
Raila has accused the IEBC of setting the October 26 date for the presidential election on a recommendation from French technology firm OT-Morpho.
He has further accused the IEBC of having only consulted President Uhuru Kenyatta on the date which coincides with his birthday.
