Director of Criminal Investigations (DCI) boss George Kinoti was finally sworn in on Friday afternoon.
Mr Kinoti was sworn in alongside Deputy Inspector Generals Edward Mbugua and Noor Gabow who are in charge of National Police Service and Administration Police respectively by the registrar Ms Ann Amadi.
The three went through a vetting process on Thursday morning by the National Police Service Commission led by its chairman, Johnston Kavuludi.
George Kinoti was the only person who was vetted for the DCI position.

Kinoti has been the national police spokesman based in the office of Inspector General of Police Joseph Boinnet.
He is replacing Ndegwa Muhoro, who was relinquished of his duties by President Uhuru Kenyatta during his Cabinet naming two weeks ago.
Muhoro had held the position for around seven years, and was, therefore, posted to the Public Service Commission (PSC) for redeployment.
According to Mr Kivuludi, there was no lady officer who had applied for those available positions other than one lawyer, Milka Murugi, who did not qualify for being a civilian.
“One needs to be a serving police officer. We have got serving female police officers, this is not just an appointive position, it is competitive… so far, unfortunately, no female candidate who is qualified signified interest in the position by submitting an application to the commission,” Kavuludi stated during a briefing to journalists on Thursday evening.

Mr Mbugua was also the sole candidate, while Gabow, who is the Acting AP boss, was interviewed alongside two other applicants, Vincent Mokokha and Musa Dhadho.
