Deputy President William Ruto's 2022 presidential bid has received a boost from five NASA leaders from the coastal region who declared they would support him.
Taita Taveta Governor Granton Samboja, MPs Aisha Jumwa (Malindi), Jones Mlolwa (Voi), Ali Mbogo (Kisauni) and Danson Mwashako (Wundanyi) jointly declared that Ruto was best fit to serve the country after President Uhuru Kenyatta completed his term.
Speaking during a fundraiser at St Barnabas Anglican Church in Voi, Aisha Jumwa declared that the time for politicking was over.
“We cannot stop an idea whose time has come. In 2022 there is no other candidate for presidency other than the deputy president,” she conveyed adding that the opposition would be at the forefront of pushing for Uhuru's Big Four agenda.

The outspoken legislator warned the other NASA Principals (Kalonzo Musyoka, Moses Wetangula, Musalia Mudavadi) against opposing the talks between Raila Odinga and Uhuru.
“If at all they were united then there is no need of them intimidating us against uniting with the government.
“What happened is water under the bridge. We must accept change and support our leaders who have decided to unite for the sake of the country,” she added.
Echoing her sentiments, Voi MP Jones Mlolwa stated that the resistance movement ended when the two leaders agreed to have talks.
“We are now speaking the same language which will eventually lead to a positive impact to the citizens,” he stated.
Thoughts that were also shared by Kisauni MP Ali Mbogo who maintained: “Politics ended in 2017. What is remaining is unity among Kenyans. Without peace, the Jubilee government will not achieve the big four agenda."

Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria who had accompanied the DP applauded Raila and Uhuru for uniting for the good of the country.
"When Uhuru retires in 2022, so should Raila so that they can let us young politicians continue to press on," he told the congregation.
